Four Fun Reasons to Visit the Underrated Country Bear Jamboree at Disney"s Magic Kingdom

One Walt Disney World Resort attraction that you have inevitably heard of is the Country Bear Jamboree.
Chances are, however, that when you are planning your Disney vacation, you don't have much interest in checking it out.
Why is that, exactly? Well, it has to do with the Country Bear Jamboree getting a bad rep, for several reasons: the first is the outdated technology that runs the attraction, the second is the fact that many folks don't like country music, and the last has to do with the humor, which seems to miss the mark with lots of Disney guests.
This is a bit of a bummer, because in comparison to the few minute rides with couple hour lines, this attraction has a lot to offer, if you give it a chance.
Here are a few reasons that may convince you to take in this classic and infamous Disney attraction.
1.
) Technological Nostalgia While it is true that the technology that runs the Country Bear Jamboree is outdated - audio animatronics are not exactly the cutting edge, there is a quality to having these creatures real and in front of you that makes the attraction special.
We, as a country are so used to seeing almost real things up on a 3-D screen that the novelty of mounted heads Buff the Bison, Max the Deer, and Melvin the Moose sing and come to life before your eyes moves from novel to nostalgic.
There truly isn't any computer technology that can beat something tangible, something tactile, and that takes up real space.
So many bears, so little time to study them - Liver Lips McGrowl, Henry and Wendell, Trixie, The Sun Bonnets, Big Al, and many more! 2.
) Culturally Coded Music Whether or not you really enjoy country music, there is no reason that you cannot appreciate it.
Country music, especially the soulful type played by these Southern Bears, has a rich tradition, culture, and history.
Songs like "My Woman Ain't Pretty (But She Don't Sware None)," "Mama, Don't Whip Little Buford," "Tears Will Be the Chaser For My Wine," "All the Guys That Turn Me On Turn Me Down," and "Blood on the Saddle" exemplify the poetic side of country, but also tap into a vein of humor that ties together all the elements of this Walt Disney World attraction.
3.
) Humor with Broad Appeal Surprisingly, the humor featured in the Country Bear Jamboree is rather multifaceted.
On a base level, you have anthropomorphic bears, each of which portrays a drawling Southern Stereotype.
Anyone with a sense of humor can appreciate the sheer absurdity of this, even if you are a Southerner - certainly, it will require you to have a self-deprecating sense of humor.
On a deeper level, the dialogue and lyrics exchanged by these giant furry folks is witty, clever, and irreverent.
There is humor that will appeal to all ages, and luckily, the humor that appeals to the adults won't interrupt the kids' enjoyment of the attraction and vise versa.
4.
) At the Very Least, AC! If none of these points make you reconsider visiting the Country Bear Jamboree, then at least think about this.
Walt Disney World Resort is a crowded theme park in hot and sunny Orlando Florida, where you will be walking around for hours at a time.
The Country Bear Jamboree is a place where you can sit and enjoy some good, old-fashioned air conditioning for 20 minutes.
