8 Keys to Health That Will Lead to Happiness

Are health and happiness intertwined? Of course! If you wake up every morning to a body you appreciate and love, a body with plenty of energy, a body with no aches and pains, won't you be happy? What are your goals? At all times, you should be able to write down on a piece of paper exactly what you want right now.
And if you don't have goals, what are you doing?!? Everyone has different goals in relation to health.
Some people want to be professional bodybuilders, some people want to just be lean, some people just want to be healthy, and others just want to live a long long time.
And some people want to be lean healthy professional bodybuilders who live a long time.
No matter what your goals, there are different paths of achieving them, and everyone should do what works best for their bodies.
Did you catch that? Do what works best for YOU.
There are over 4000 diet books on the market right now because there is no one-size-fits-all diet.
There are over 6 billion people on this planet, why the heck would just one diet be right? I digress.
Regardless of your goals, there are a few foundational principles I think should be consistent with everyone.
First off, everyone should be managing stress.
Excess stress is linked in with virtually every disease known to man, and if you let it, stress can get you very quickly.
You've got the secret weapon though.
You control how much you stress.
It all exists inside your mind, and if you can control your mind, you will control your stress.
Use positivity, laughter, exercise, sleep, and almost everything else I mention to fight stress.
The key to stress: Never make a situation worse than it actually is, always find a solution.
If there is a negative, there must be a positive.
The next foundational principle is sleep.
If you're not sleeping and you're complaining about your energy levels, mental drive, physical drive, immune function, or virtually anything else, stop complaining.
You've found the solution.
You need to sleep! Sleep is your repair.
Sleep is your rejuvenation.
Sleep is your daily reincarnation.
And if you're not repairing, rejuvenating, or reincarnating, you're going to fail.
So make sure to get at-least 7 hours of sleep a night, and throw in a couple short naps here and there.
Sunshine.
Not even for the Vitamin D.
Well actually yes for the Vitamin D.
But the sun also has some sort of repair power on us.
It brings us back down to a simple level, to our primal level.
It grounds us from all the crap and stress we make up in our daily lives.
Try getting just 15 minutes of light a day, and see your health drastically improve.
Water.
We have soda, diet soda, juice, diet juice (WTF), flavored water, coffee, tea, alcohol, and probably a couple other ones I'm missing.
I'm not saying you should or should not be drinking any of that, but make sure to get some regular, pure, healthy, water in.
You're made of water.
This world is made of water.
Does that not signify its' importance? At-least 1/2 an ounce per pound of bodyweight.
150 Pounds = 75 ounces a day.
Food.
To be honest, food should probably be apart of your daily regime whether or not your pursuing a health goal.
To survive and whatnot.
But what I really want to say is you should be eating real food.
If you can tell me where the hell a marsh-mellow comes from you can eat it.
Yeah exactly.
But I can tell you exactly where meat, eggs, fruit, vegetables, nuts, oils, and dairy come from.
Obviously, like I said above, there is no one right diet for everyone, but there is a line, a very clear line, between crap foods, and good foods.
What's the point of eating a twinkie that makes you feel good for the 30 seconds you're downing it, if you're going to feel like crap for a day? Eat real food.
Exercise It doesn't even have to be a formal workout! Even though that's what I recommend you could just go for a walk everyday.
Start moving.
Stop taking the damn elevator for a floor.
Park farther in the parking lot.
I promise exercise is much better then people make it.
Don't be a sheep and follow the crowd onto the cardio machines to plug in 90 minutes.
Start doing intense exercise.
Get in, work your ass of, and get out.
That's how you get results.
Breathe Seriously...
Most people (in Western countries at-least) are subjected to stay inside of a house or building all day and don't really get the taste of real pure air.
Go outside and just breathe.
And breathe correctly too.
Start breathing through the nose, you'll notice a couple improvements that come along with that habit including improved energy.
Go outside at-least once a day.
Think that's a joke recommendation? Look back at the past week and see if you went out at-least once a day.
Just to breathe! Stay Happy This is it.
This is what it's all about.
In pursuit of healthiness, but only to achieve happiness.
Wake up.
You need to be having fun.
You need be laughing.
You need to be smiling.
You need to be happy.
Because I promise, if you do none of those things, having a 6 pack, living a long time, or any of those goals won't matter at all.
Get your mind in order, and realize what our purpose is here.
We weren't put here to stress, be angry, live in fear, or give up We were put here to be motivated, be happy, be creative, and expand.
This is the key foundational principle.
And it all starts in the mind.
If you get your mind right, you win.
Get your mind right, and the sleeping, the de-stressing, the breathing, the hydrating, the eating, the exercising, will all come very easily.
