How to Configure DSL Via a Command Line Fc12

    • 1). Click "Applications > System Tools > Terminal" to open the Fedora Core 12 (FC12) terminal.

    • 2). Type the following code in:

      ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.2 up netmask 255.255.255.1

    • 3). Replace "eth0" with the Ethernet port for you DSL. Replace "192.168.0.2" with the IP address you want to assign to your FC12 computer. Replace "255.255.255.1" with the subnet mask (this is the default mask address). Press "Enter."

    • 4). Type the following:

      route add -net 192.168.0.1

      Replace "192.168.0.1" with the IP of your router.

    • 5). Press "Enter." Then type "ping 192.168.0.1" then press "Enter." This should return positive results. You have now configured DSL via the command line.
