So many people want to change their life.
Life change is something that is easy in theory, but not always in practice.
I have people ask me what the easiest way is for Life Change.
I tell them just do it! Sounds like Nike! Yeah it does.
The point to Nike's motto, "Just do it" is that you put on their sports wear and you go out and do it, whatever "it" is.
That's my point too.
When you want to change your life the best thing to do is to do it.
Will it happen right away? Not likely.
It takes work to change old patterns of thinking and living.
Will it happen eventually? Yes, depending on how hard you want to work at it.
What is the first step? The first step is to understand clearly what it is you want to change.
So often people will say they want to change, but when asked what it is they want to change they have a hard time putting it into words.
You need to be able to put into words what you want exactly! It makes it so much easier if you know precisely what it is you are struggling with.
The more precisely you know it, the easier it becomes.
Knowing you want to stop being angry is fine.
Knowing that you want to stop being angry at work is better, you have narrowed it down.
Knowing that it is Liz that makes you angry at work and you need to either stay away from her or work things out is getting there.
Knowing what it is that Liz does that gets you so upset and knowing that you want to change that habit will most likely meet with success.
Okay, so now what? Now you start methodically working on the problem each and every day.
In the above example, if you aren't around Liz on the week-ends, that does not mean that you stop thinking about how to handle the situation.
It doesn't mean you cannot spend a few minutes envisioning yourself and Liz coming to some sort of agreement.
In other words, you just do it.
You go out and try your best to do whatever it is you want to change.
Each and every day you work at it a little.
With each day will come more success.
Will you fall down? Sure, there will be days when you think nothing has changed at all; but it will.
That's it? Just do it! If you think just do it is easy, you are sadly mistaken.
There will be lots of skinned knees and scraped chins from falling down.
There will be so many times of getting up and dusting yourself off that you will begin to wonder if it is worth it.
Only you can answer that.
No one ever did anything without having to work at it a little.
Ask anyone who plays professional sports or has become successful in business.
It takes effort.
Don't sit on the sidelines wondering when your chance will come.
It may never come if you don't look for the opportunity and take it.
You have to be ready and when you are, just do it!
