How to Watch Full Medical Procedures

    • 1). Learn about a specific medical procedure you are interested in. This may be orthopedic surgery, cardiac surgery, dental surgery, laproscopy, ear, nose and throat procedures or other general medical procedures. You will want to get a solid background in the procedure before watching it so you will be able to better understand what you are viewing.

    • 2). Search through a bank of online videos. The two websites listed at the end of this article have links to pages on which you can choose recorded medical procedures. You will need media player software on your computer.

    • 3). Choose a procedure or surgery to watch. These are usually sorted by category on the websites. Simply find what you are looking for and download it. Most online videos are recorded, not live. If you do find a live streaming video webcast of a procedure, you will sometimes be able to call in or email questions. Check the date of the video before trying to do so, as many videos are from several years ago and live interaction is not available.

    • 4). Talk to a local hospital about viewing a procedure in person. Usually these settings are reserved for medical students. However, if you are looking to go to medical school or have another valid reason for wanting to view a procedure, you can explain and may be able to arrange to watch a procedure live.
